Constant itching/tingling with no OB

Hi everybody,

I was diagnosed about 11months ago. So far I've only dealt with my primary OB, BUT
I have had itching around the genital area frequently. Not sure what this is dude to
and others I've spoken too don't necessarily experience this without an OB.

What can I do?I've tried taking valtrex daily but it doesn't really help.
It's quite annoying and makes living with this virus 100% worse. Without the
itching, I can pretty much go on with my life.
It's expecially worse at nice when I lay down to sleep...I got some dermaplast and spray myself with it to alleve some of the ITCH.

I've had herpes for a few

I've had herpes for a few years, and usually use acyclovir cream and famcyclovir pills for it. I guess those help a bit, but I heard good things about hsv-zero topical treatment, and I'll chime in and recommend it. It speeds up the healing a lot, and sometimes prevents the outbreak altogether for me, if I slather it on when I get itchy.

Most people infected with

Most people infected with HSV-2 are not aware of their infection. However, if signs and symptoms occur during the first outbreak, they can be quite pronounced. The first outbreak usually occurs within two weeks after the virus is transmitted, and the sores typically heal within two to four weeks. Other signs and symptoms during the primary episode may include a second crop of sores, and flu-like symptoms, including fever and swollen glands. However, most individuals with HSV-2 infection never have sores, or they have very mild signs that they do not even notice or that they mistake for insect bites or another skin condition.
People diagnosed with a first episode of genital herpes can expect to have several (typically four or five) outbreaks (symptomatic recurrences) within a year. Over time these recurrences usually decrease in frequency. It is possible that a person becomes aware of the "first episode" years after the infection is acquired.  Hi Newarkmed1

Sounds very familiar :(

This is an old post so I wondered if your symptoms have improved?  If so what did you do?

EXERCISE HELPS! I don't care

EXERCISE HELPS!
I don't care what you have read.
Start aerobic exercise asap.
1 hour a day.
you will be AMAZED how this helps over time.
Give it 1 month where you are working out 1 hour a day and your immune system will probably start supressing the virus on its own.
try it!
it works better than any drug you can take.
You need to strengthen your immune system.
EAT HEALTHY. No sugar, no caffiene, no alcohol.
These are poison. That's why herpes attacks when you ingest them.
Whole fruits, veggies, and healthy protein like fish or chicken.
You'll thank me!

Herpes is an insidious

Herpes is an insidious virus.
Each person owns the virus. It does what it pleases based on YOUR body and your nervous system, where it resides and travels throughout the body.
you can get OB's constantly, or seldom, or NEVER.
Some people experience itching once in a while, while others experience it daily.
Some have neuropothy (tingling in the extremeties) as if they had a shingles OB, even though we are talking simplex here. The similarities between Zoster and Simplex are sometimes very close. Sometimes not. Again, it's up to the individual.
The only way to avoid knowing is to avoid the virus. Once you catch it, you own it.
I am a very nervous person, and the virus has been attacking me since the day I got it over a year ago. I have had few days of peace and relief. Some days my feet and hands to numb and I tingle. Other days I itch horribly, others I feel feverish. Some days I have buttox pain and leg pain so severe I can't function.
If I had know this, I would have NEVER had unprotected sex EVER. But it's too late and I now have to suffer for the rest of my life.
The ONLY hope is that the virus will subside over years. Even this is not a guarantee. Some suffer for the rest of their lives.
Others don't even know they have it.
I curse the person that gave this to me, but more than that, I curse myself for having caught it. A condom and some spermacide would have cut the risk by 95 percent. And if my partner had taken antivirals like they said they did (they lied), that would have helped too.
Now life is horrible.
But it's my life. At least I had 36 good years!

Itching too

I was also recently diagnosed with genital herpes about a month ago. I had a sore for about 3-4 days so I went to see my doctor and after a swab test she told me. I took Valtrex twice a day for 7 days and used Acyclovir cream for 5 days. Since then I still have constant itching, which is really annoying. I am not sure if another outbreak is coming or not but nothing has showed up yet and the itching has been going on for atleast 3 weeks now. I had a similar sore about 8 years ago went to a doctor and they didn't tell me anything. I have no clue where I got this from. I've been married for 8 years and have been with my husband for 10 years. He has never had any symptoms and so I haven't told him yet. I don't even know how to tell him! I want to know, since I don't have any lesions only this annoying itching, can I pass this to my husband if he doesn't already have it? Also is there any for sure way to get rid of the itching?

I'm not sure if i have

I'm not sure if i have herpes or not, I'm still trying to figure it out with diagnosis of doctors and tests, but i also know what a constant itch/irritation feels like.
I have a lot of small pumps on the tip of my penis and they've been present now for 10+ weeks. Before they formed i had a constant itch/irritation for around 6 straight weeks, but sometimes the itch would subside for acouple hours during the day every day. When the bumps showed up that day the itch was a really bad burning. and after 16+ weeks i still have the itching burning feeling but not as severe as it was at first.

Itching-Dermaplast

Dermaplast is a spray for itch/burns/bites to temporarily relieve the pain. I spray it on but then it wears off in a few. So it's hard to use when I'm not home. I can't be at work, and running to the bathroom to spray my crotch. it's just kinda weird.

This itching is unbelieveable ANNOYING. Otherwise I'm managing te virus okay...the itch has just got to stop. I feel like i'm on the only one experiencing this madness.

Itching - Herpes outbreak?

Hi Newarkmed1,

That doesn't sound nice! I can't say if that's a side effect of having Genital Herpes or not. I assume that you have already seen a doctor about it, seeing that you have taken Valtrex for it?

My best advice is to keep using the dermaplast spray if it works. What is dermaplast anyway? I would think that th eitching will go away at some point but it's hard to say.

Kind regards,

iv
